Yea yea, it;s true - all of us here at The Roseland Theatre, one of Portland's most special musical gems in the scene that sits right in the heart of the city, is absolutely thrilled to welcome King Princess to the stage this Fall as a part of her 2025 Girl Violence tour—a run of dates that’s as electric, intimate, and unforgettable as the artist herself. With shows lined up across North America and Europe this year, including stops in Toronto, Berlin, London, Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville, and oh yeah, of course - the November 17th stop here in Oregon - King Princess is poised to have a standout moment in her career on the tour this year—and we’re all along for the ride.
Okay wow i’m interested! So like, who is King Princess? Born Mikaela Straus, King Princess has been bending genres and breaking expectations since her breakout hit “1950” hit the airwaves in 2018. Her sound? A gut punchy, poetic blend of alt-pop, glam rock, and soul — a sound that KP has always pushed towards and advocated for in her crazy love filled deep persona. And her new album Girl Violence which dropped this September takes that ethos to the next level. It’s a bold, emotional, wildly textured album that swings from grungy guitar anthems to glittering synth-laced confessions, all underpinned by sharp lyricism and King Princess’ signature vocal bite. This tour sees King Princess fully stepping into her moment — channeling heartbreak, empowerment, chaos, and queer joy with every track. Girl Violence is being hailed by fans and critics alike as her most daring work yet. The album’s standout tracks, including “RIP KP,” “The Bend,” and “Say What You Will” (featuring Joe Talbot of IDLES), show her fearlessly embracing the complexities of queer relationships, emotional volatility, and personal transformation.
And gosh, right here at Roseland?! With its stunning art deco architecture and close-up acoustics, is the perfect home for this chapter of the King Princess story. This won’t just be a show — it’ll be an emotional exorcism, a love letter, and a glam rock therapy session all wrapped in one. Whether you’ve been following her since Cheap Queen, or Girl Violence is your first taste, this is your chance to see an artist who’s redefining pop stardom from the inside out.
So — let’s recap, shall we? King Princess. Live in Portland. New music. Big feelings. Don’t miss it. We wouldn’t either. We’ll see you. Right here on the dance floor. We’ll see you soon, Portland KP fans!
