Emerging in 2000, Silverstein found incredible success with their sophomore effort Discovering the Waterfront. At the time, the band stood about among the sea of posthardcore bands that came out during the era thanks to their clever genre blending and crisp vocals alternating between screaming and clean. In 2015, Silverstein released I Am Alive in Everything I Touch, their first album to enter the Canadian chart and Billboard 200 simultaneously.
Thursday rose to prominence in 2001 with the single “Understanding in a Car Crash.” The hit, spawned from the band’s sophomore album Full Collapse put Thursday on the post hardcore map. In 2003, the band entered the Billboard singles chart for the first time with “Signals Over the Air,” peaking at number 30 on the Altnerative chart. Meanwhile the album War All The Time peaked at number 7 on the Billboard 200, making it Thursday’s highest charting effort to date.
