The Maiden Tour 2025

Rock superfans and post prog kids who just love to get hardcore - this is our moment to come out and come correct right in the heart of the city. And everyone here at the Roseland Theater is amped charged and ready to welcome back The Sound of Animals Fighting for a rare and roaring night of chaos, masks, and mind-bending music electronica for all our of pleasure. Hitting the stage on September 26th for the most anticipated stops on The 2025 Maiden Tour, this Portland show is gearing up to be a truly unforgettable gathering of longtime fans, newcomers, and those who just love their live music with a side of the unexpected. With support from post-rock legends This Will Destroy You, beloved emo veterans The Casket Lottery, and the rising heat of Hard Chiller, this isn’t just a show — it’s a full-spectrum sonic experience.

The Sound of Animals Fighting isn’t your typical band — and they’ve never tried to be. Formed in the early 2000s by members of RX Bandits, Circa Survive, Finch, and more, the collective made waves for their genre-hopping, experimental approach to post-hardcore. Wearing animal masks and going only by aliases, the mystery was part of the allure—but the music is what locked them into cult status. Their debut album Tiger and the Duke introduced the world to their layered storytelling and progressive song structures, while their 2006 release Lover, the Lord Has Left Us… pushed even further into ambient chaos, earning them a loyal fan base that still analyzes those lyrics to this day.

By the time they dropped The Ocean and the Sun in 2008, the band had sharpened their sound — blending poetry, dissonance, and beauty in one of the most ambitious concept albums to come out of the scene. Then came the long silence. Fans thought it was over — until 2022, when the band returned with the Apeshit EP and a string of reunion shows that reminded everyone just how needed their voice was in this era of music. Now, on a full-scale tour for the first time in years, the band is making up for lost time and doing it loud.

So whether you're a day-one fan or finally making it out to see what all the noise is about, this Portland stop is the perfect place to witness the return of a band that never did things by the book. The animals are back in town — and you won’t want to miss what they’ve got for us this time around. Grab your tickets ASAP, let’s party.
